SENIOR CLASS PICTURE: The seniors will meet on the football field at 1:45 tomorrow for their senior class picture...please wear red.

CONGRATULATIONS CROSS COUNTRY: Congratulations to the LHS girls Cross Country team. They won the Battlefield 5KTuesday at Parker's Crossroads City Park. JaneAnn Ujcich paced the Lady Tigers by finishing 2nd overall. Laura Mobley, Ally Bland, Abby Bland, and Hailey Azbill also medaled in the win. Also congratulations to Gabe Middleton and Anthony Lucero as they medaled in the boys’ race.

LHS STUDENT TRAVEL: We had a great meeting last night!! We will be going to California, Grand Canyon, and the Las Vegas in June 2019 and Europe – London, Paris, Belgium, and Amsterdam in June 2020. The links to both sites are:

GOVERNORS SCHOOL: The 2019 Tennessee Governor’s School Applications are now on the TN Department of Education website. This is for current juniors only.

PROM COMMITTEE SIGN UPS: Sign ups for prom committee is this week in Mrs. Rainey's room. You must be a senior to be on the prom committee. First meeting is Monday during 5th block. Attendance is mandatory.

TIGER TOWN TAILGATE: There will be a Tiger Town Tailgate on Thursday, September 6th from 8:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at the soccer complex! There will be a concert, bonfire, and class homecoming competitions!! Come out!!!!!

SOCCER COMMUNITY SERVICE: Lexington Soccer League could use some help in the concession stand from 9am-12pm on Saturdays, September 8th, 15th, 22nd. This will involve selling food and drink items, stocking coolers, and cleaning up. There will be an adult there as well to supervise and give any instructions. Questions? FRIENDS OF LHS: The Friends of LHS are have a kickoff meeting for Project Graduation in the LHS Library Tuesday, September 11th at 6:30 p.m.

LHS ALUMNI FUNDRAISER: Attention LHS alumni! This year the yearbook staff would like you to be a part of the 2018-19 yearbook! For a donation of $5, you can submit your name, LHS graduation year, and any ONE club, sport, or office you held while a student at LHS. Donations collected will be utilized to help LHS students who can't afford to purchase a yearbook of their own. Be one of the first alums to join us this year!! Thanks for your support!! MOORE STUDIO ORDERS: As you begin to order Fall Sports Pictures, please make checks payable to Moore Studio and turn payments and order in to Mrs. Mayfield in the Old Building by the deadlines at stated on your proofs.

SENIOR CLASS MEETING: There will be a senior class meeting held by the counselors on Tuesday, September 11th at 9:00 a.m. in the auditorium. All seniors are expected to attend.

SENIOR PARENT MEETING: The counselors will hold a meeting for all senior parents (parent teacher conference night) Thursday, September 13th at 6:00 p.m. in the auditorium.

ACT TEST DATES: The next national ACT test date is October 27th. The registration deadline is September 28th.

HOSA CLUB SIGN UPS: HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) is the club associated with the medical classes of LHS! Sign-ups are during the month of August! To be eligible, you must have a Heath Science class (Health Science, Medical Therapeutics, Nursing Ed, or Anatomy & Physiology with Mrs. Bingham) either this semester or next or were a member of HOSA last year. Dues are $14 and must be paid by August 31st! See Mrs. Lindsay Young or Mrs. Whitney Bingham for more information!

TIGERART CLUB: Sign-ups are during the month of August. Dues are $5 and any Lexington High School student is welcome to join art. You do not have to be enrolled in any art courses to participate in art club. See Mrs. Amber to register and pay dues before the end of August. Our first meeting will be held on September 5th during 5th block and each consecutive meeting will be on the 1st Wednesday of the month.

FCA: Fellowship of Christian Athletes will be on Tuesdays 7:20 a.m. in Coach Cepps’ room.

2019 CALIFORNIA TRAVEL: We will be traveling to San Francisco, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and the Grand Canyon the last week of June 2019 and the price is GREAT! A few things on this trip includes adventures such as… cable car rides, Alcatraz, Fisherman’s Warf, Golden Gate Bridge, Hollywood Boulevard, Rodeo Drive, Las Vegas Buffets, Colorado River Boat Trip, and a Grand Canyon Tour. AYERS’ OFFICE INFORMATION:

TN CHATT REP: A representative from University of Tennessee Chattanooga will be here at 2:00 on Thursday, September 6th in the auditorium. Any junior or senior interested in learning more about UTC can attend.

SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY: The Horatio Alger Association provides scholarships to students who have significant financial need and have exhibited integrity and perseverance in overcoming personal adversity. The scholarship is awarded to deserving students each year and range in award values from $6,000 to $25,000. The deadline to apply is October 25th. Please see the Ayers Office for more details.

TN PROMISE: Tennessee Promise is a scholarship that allows students to attend any community college or Tennessee College of Applied Technology location in the state of Tennessee for free. All seniors will apply for the scholarship. We encourage everyone to apply before the November 1st deadline just in case they decide to attend one of these schools after the scholarship application closes. Any senior who hasn't signed up needs to come to the Ayers Office to apply.
